My Stylish Wine Bag

This is my beautiful Wine Chiller from Australia!

This clear, stylish wine bag is a very practical product - by just adding some ice, you can enjoy a relaxing picnic with chilled beverage! I bought Chardonnay! :-)

I love this wine bag because you can fold it up when not in use, it isn't bulky unlike the regular metal, traditional wine buckets. It's also personalized :-) I have my name on it.

This is a perfect corporate gift for my clients! All I have to do is add my business card!

The Lake Counter, Queenstown New Zealand

These French Macarons are from $2.5 to $5 at The Lake Counter, Cafe, Grocery, Deli - at the Hilton Queenstown, New Zealand. The more expensive ones are much bigger - 2.5 x the size of the little ones.

I found this place very weird as there are overly priced items which are both commonly seen and artisan made. I can understand hand-made, boutique products to be overly priced... however I am shocked to see common noodles which can be bought a regular grocery store to be stocked at a higher price as well. Given that this cafe is attached to the Hilton Hotel in Frankton, Queenstown, I understand why they want to charge premium... but it seems that the products sold do not have integrity... well I am just being nit picky... :-)

There's nothing real special about this cafe-deli. The New World grocery is just about 8 minutes drive from the Hilton and you can get much more value for your money from there.

Jack's Point Cafe, Queenstown, New Zealand

Jack's Point, Queenstown New Zealand

This cafe has one of the most ravishing views of Queenstown. It's absolutely stunning!

If you fancy a posh coffee experience, visit Jack's Point. I highly recommend that you visit this place even just once. The lunch menu has meals from $25 to $30... (30 dollar pasta...that is). However, the coffee prices are reasonable and comparable - $4.50 per cup.

The entire family can enjoy this trip - there's canoes for rent which can be used in the lake. Fishing is allowed - fly fishing - 1 fish per person. You can also play golf!

We hiked on the hills around the area.

Sarsiado Reinvented

Recently, I've been watching a youtube channel called "Panlasing Pinoy". It's very informative. It covers all the Filipino dishes that I truly want to eat once I visit the Philippines again. The photos on this blog article features my own version of Sarsiado, one of the most famous Filipino Dishes. It's a simple meal - Fish, vegetables, egg, fish sauce...

The original sarsiado recipe involves just garlic, tomato, egg, onions and fish and fish sauce (plus salt and pepper).

I have altered this recipe by adding broccoli, capsicum, carrots. The fish I used here is called Lemon Fish, boneless fish fillet which I bought from New World, Queenstown today.

Also want to share that I have cooked the fish first... then sauteed the vegetables after. Once the vegetables seem softer and more cooked, I added the fish and a bit of water (half cup). After simmering for 5 minutes, I have added 1 egg, cracked it on top of the simmering dish. I have waited 5 more minutes to cook the egg.

I have served this dish with basmati rice mixed with green peas.

The fish cost $7.64 while the vegetables and rice probably was an extra $5. So for 2 people, $12 meal is well worth it :-)

Asian Noodle

I got invited to a new year party in Queenstown, among Filipinos and I was told the theme would be "filipino" food. Well I haven't learned cooking any Filipino food all my life so this is my version of an Asian Noodle.

The ingredients:
1. Lots of vegetables - broccoli, carrot, onions, capsicum and even mushroom
2. Egg Noodle
3. Shrimps
4. Spices - cumin, curry, pepper
5. Sesame oil
6. Egg

I got good reviews from my Filipino friends!
